Disaster Relief Outreach
When disaster strikes, clothing is one of the most immediate needs — and one of the most overlooked. Save The Closet deploys our mobile clothing boutique to disaster-affected communities, giving survivors the dignity of choosing their own clothing after catastrophic loss.
Rather than handing people a random bag of clothes, we let every family browse and select what they actually need — restoring a sense of normalcy and personal dignity in the aftermath of loss. We have served communities across 9 states at 67 events, reaching more than 38,000 people.
How our disaster relief works
Disaster strikes
A hurricane, flood, tornado, or other catastrophe leaves families with little more than the clothes on their backs.
We mobilize
Save The Closet deploys our mobile clothing boutique, coordinating with local partners to set up a dignified shopping experience.
Survivors choose
Every family browses and selects what they actually need — restoring dignity and a sense of normalcy.
Community recovers
By meeting an immediate, overlooked need with respect and care, we help communities take one meaningful step forward.
Bay District Schools — Title 1 & CTE Support
Save The Closet is proud to support Title 1 schools and Career & Technical Education (CTE) students throughout Bay District Schools. We provide clothing and essential items to students and families who need them most, helping remove barriers so students can show up ready to learn.
For CTE students preparing to enter the workforce, having the right professional attire can make all the difference. We work to ensure that no student misses an opportunity simply because they lack the clothes to take it.
Department of Labor Senior Job Training
Save The Closet is a host agency for a Department of Labor funded low-income senior citizen job training program. Through this partnership, we provide meaningful work experience and skills training for seniors who are re-entering or remaining in the workforce.
Our locations offer a welcoming, supportive environment where participants gain real-world experience in retail, customer service, inventory management, and community service — skills that open doors to lasting employment.
Community Service Opportunities
Save The Closet welcomes individuals who need to complete community service hours at our locations. Whether court-ordered, school-required, or personally motivated, we believe service is one of the most powerful ways to connect with your community.
Volunteers and service participants work alongside our team sorting donations, organizing clothing, assisting at events, and helping us fulfill our mission of serving others with dignity. It is meaningful work that makes a real difference.
Workforce Training Programs
Save The Closet is expanding into workforce training programs designed to equip community members with the skills and confidence they need to succeed in today's job market.
From professional dress and interview preparation to hands-on retail and logistics experience, our workforce training initiatives connect people with practical skills, mentorship, and the resources to take the next step in their careers. More details coming soon as this program launches.
"We are in the dignity business. Clothes are simply the conduit."
